Comic Market 2013

Comic market is Japan LARGEST public gathering

you will feel that 

"Where on earth these people come from????"

Comic market have exhibition and sales of self-published publication 

centered around manga, anime, video games, and other related genres

In Japan we used to call it as 「Comike」「コミケ」

more than 600,000 people visited this event this year

The crowd is amazing!!!!!

The next comic market which will be the 85th times

will held from 

Dec 29 (Sun) ～ Dec 31 (Tue)

Winter season

This period will be a holiday for most of the Japanese

so it will be SUPER crowded

It will be held at Tokyo Big Sight

near Odaiba

I went on the last day

and still the people at the station is so crowded!!!!

The station staff even control the number of people

entering the station to avoid over congestion

after getting out from the station

the path will lead you to the Tokyo Big Sight building

where most of the exhibition will be held

not only Comic Market

The building looks like an upside down pyramid on 2 pole

Anime and Manga lovers from all over the world

purposely fly to Japan to join this event

Some even stick their fav character on their cars and Bicycle

After following the path prepared by the event

you will be lead to the free area

where all the Cos-players will be

This year (Maybe because it is summer)

There are A LOT BIKINIS around!!!!!

See all those Humsup guys grabbing their camera

toward the Bikini Girl

But there is a rule in Comike where there are guard will stop you from taking photo too long

 The guard will go to the cos-players with lots of crowd

and start to countdown in 5 second

you will need to stop taking photo and go away after the countdown finish

(strict rule..... haha....)

My friends all tell me that

"Why you don take photo from the FRONT??????!!!"

Most Japanese are Flat or Fake boops

You want see flat one?? or Fake one??

You can see GUYS cos-players are very LONELY

you can easily take their photo from front

hahaha

Sailor moon is there too!!!

Sailor moon might be outdated so less people around her

Since is SUMMER

The weather is SUPREMELY hot and melting!!!!!!!!

Some cos-players even black out

and they call for Medic

We also cannot stand the heat so we went in

All we can see is people mountain people sea

人山人海

日本語というと「人ごみ」

Just look at their HUGE costume

and just imagine the heat of 40 degrees with humidity of 99%

This is almost equal to suicide

Why the event do not have room with air-condition

for them to cos-play



The enterprise exhibition session

is more to video games

Some people in front

I doubt they are the voice actress

giving some talk or something

attracted those Geek オタク

HUGE gundam look-alike figure

I don watch anime so much

So I do not know what character it is

If those who like anime a lot

You might like this event

We finished the enterprise part

then walk down to the free area session again

more and more cos-players coming up!!!!

This girl a bit lansi

or maybe is the rule

a guy asked to take a picture of her

then she said no photo allowed while moving around

means no photo shooting when cos-players is walking around

You can only take photo

when the cos-players are standing in certain photo shooting area

(I heard they said)

There are the marios too

(They are too high and too thin for Marios though)

it is FLAT!!!!

Or maybe is a HE

There are lots weird people

with weird costume

or not even costume

standing around

Just see the CROWD!!!!

on our way to the station

We decided to take the taxi instead of train

too crowded and too tired

gosh......

you can see that the participants are all in costumes

There is a rule in Comike that

You cannot wear your costume from your house!!

You must change your costume at the changing room they prepare

as they duwan to cause trouble or unwanted problems to the public

E.G. wearing a bikini in the train will attract all eyes to the boops and pervert that try to touch it

and some of the cos-players

with HUGE weapon or gadget that may

hurt and frighten off other people too

I saw from TV that some of the cos-players spent few k ringgit (100,000yen above)

for making those costumes and gadgets

Just really cannot imagine

their craving towards ANime and cos-play

Well

Just go ONCE and thats more than enough for me

I am getting more dark after this event

gonna wait for my skin to get white this coming winter

Good Comike experience

but not planning to go for a second time

during the SUMMER

maybe will consider Winter but think about the crowd

I might give up.....

One of a signature place in Penang

Run through Gurney... Queens Bay....

The shoes just not my type

some is normal design

but high price (above RM80... 2500yen)

where the design and quality not worth for the price

(Japan outlet the cloths is more cheap so I just look for ladies shoes only)

Well I am NOT into those branded shoes

I am more into the DESIGN than the Brand

Of course sneakers need to buy Adidas

(It will cost you around RM60～RM200 for an Adidas shoe)

If you go to an Outlet in Japan

You will get crazy entering Adidas or Nike shop

The shoes are so COOL!!!!! Various variety!!!!

most important is CHEAP!!!!!!

So I just simply walk into a shoe store in Prangin Mall

Here is what I got

Some slippers for SUMMER

Punk style slipper @ RM20 (660yen)



Elegant low heels @ RM23 (750yen)

Platforms with shoe lace design at the heel @ RM70 (2300yen)  

Can be used in Autumn and Spring if wear with leggings or stockings

Pumps that suitable for 

Office wear

All seasons!!!!

i LOVED these pumps as the material are very soft

and comfortable to wear

Black Shining pumps @ RM25 (800yen)

White cute pumps that easily goes with my lacey dress

@ RM40 (1300yen)

Velvet Platforms with gold belt @ RM80 (2600yen)

Red Velvet Platforms with half black heel @ RM80 (2600yen)

Averagely I can say is cheaper than Japan for the lady shoes

These velvet platform shoes

I was aiming for it since last year!!!

But it cost around RM150 to get it in Japan

and although is cheaper to get it online

You will be worrying whether the quality is ok or not

and the size is ok or not

Since I can get all of these shoes with the design that I like in 2 shops

I can save a lot of time!!!!!!

Sometimes it is very hard to get a comfortable shoe

at a reasonable price

either is

Cheap → material Hard

Expensive → material soft maybe or just paying for the brand

When you see it your love one

Then faster get it!!!!!!

I threw away few shoes

as I walked a lot in Japan

that makes my shoes spoilt and had to say Goodbye to them........

【Event】Tokyo Designer Week 2012

Tokyo Designer Week

One of the large event in town

That gathers all designer from all over the world

and gathers the excellent design and art such as

architecture, interior, product design, graphic design and art

it is held at Meiji JIngu Gaien Mae 
(In front of Meiji Shrine memorial picture gallery)

Every year over 100,000 people visited this event

and so am I!!!!

This year will be held from
Oct 26 (Sat) to Nov 4 (Mon)

These are some cool exhibition

I took photo of some of it

(did not take all of it as I have limited of time)

a lot of interesting arts!!

There are lots of handicraft

for sales too!!!!

some are kinda expensive though

All the seller are from all over the world!!!

Lots to see

Lots to buy!!

Other than that

there is food stalls for you to enjoy various food and drinks

There is a igloo ice dome

where inside the dome is a vodka lounge

of course all the drink are FREE!!!!

The one with lime is awesome!!!!



Last year I joined the event as a model

for the 「Necommimi」 product

which is a product of a cat ears that can move

by reading your brain wave!!!

(It is quite heavy though)

The ears actually only detect 2 kind of waves

which is 「concentrating」 and 「relaxing」

when your mind is 

concentrating

then your ears will stand still 

(really like a cat)

while there is a prototype tail 

will be shaking a lot like a dog (=.=)!!!!!

Then

When you are 

relaxing 

your ears will lay down

and the tail will stop shaking

The exhibition place locates outside the hall

which is very very COLD!!!

because that time would be end of autumn

the exhibition place looks like below

quite tiring but interesting (^^,)!!

Lastly

after the event ends

we went to a Izakaya

which means a drinking place in Japan

at Shibuya

京町恋しぐれ
Kyoumachi Koishigure

This restaurant is a theme restaurant

with the theme of 町家 Machiya

a kind of houses in Kyoto

very nice environment

and the food is nice too!!!!

some of the designers gather together 

to enjoy the environment there!!!!

【体験】Daruma Drawing (Japanese Dharma doll)

Shinshirakawa 新白河

is famous for Daruma だるま

 A Japanese Traditional doll

There is a Huge Dharma doll standing at the station too

In my field trip

There is Dharma doll making session 

for us to experience how to draw it

There is meaning and rule to draw it though

there is a tutor is guiding us all the way to draw it

First 

there is a blank face Dharma doll

Just with the red body and peach face is being drawn ready

We just need to draw the face and the Kanji (chinese character) wording 

of 「福」 Fuku on the tummy

which the word meant for prosperity

You will need to draw the face

and the EYES

is the most important thing in Dharma doll

Why???

Actually Dharma doll is a wishing doll

where you can make your wish upon buying the doll

at the temple (not all temple sells it and it has period as well)

BUT

Usually they will sell during New Year season (Jan 1st)

which you make a wish for the year

So what is so important about the EYES??

If you buy a ready made

The face is all ready but the EYES  

You can see from the photo that 

the Dharma doll has a gold circle around the eyes

The gold circle will be drawn AFTER your wish come true

(I accidentally draw it without listening to the instruction of the tutor... haha)

(Usually is being sold in temple without the circle around the eyes)

This is the behind of the Dharma doll

usually is blank

But I drew my own name on it

Actually there is an important part

BEFORE making the wish

which is

write your wish 

below the Dharma doll

and put the doll in your house

till your wish comes true

then draw the circle around the eyes

(My wish is a SECRET so NO photo... hahahaha)



You can get it at some tourist spot

or Disneyland with Mickey mouse ears on the Dharma doll (^^,)
